Optimize Better with Auto Rules
Let’s face it. Even the best CPM campaigns need constant attention. Although effective, manual adjustments can quickly feel like a game of whack-a-mole as you try to perfect your strategies. That’s why Adcash built Auto Rules – an intelligent optimization assistant that always works overtime.
Auto Rules is a fully automated data-driven tool that cuts waste spend, and keeps performance on track so you can focus on the fun part: scaling your next campaign!
What Are Auto Rules?
Auto Rules are smart optimization tools within the Adcash platform that help detect which zones are performing and which are not.
The tool automatically keeps your bids aligned with your performance goals, so your budget goes exactly where it performs best. It continuously prioritizes high-converting traffic sources based on your CPA goals. Spend is fine-tuned in real time. No manual tweaks, no babysitting.
Advertisers get access to 10 ready-to-use Auto Rules templates built by Adcash’s optimization team.
What is a Zone?
A zone is simply an area on a website where you can place an ad. If a website is a neighbourhood, a zone would be a building in that neighbourhood.
“Using Auto Rules has truly been a game-changer for me. I worry much less about manually managing campaigns, and my overall performance has noticeably improved. It’s definitely one of the most impactful tools I’ve used.”

What You Need To Use Auto Rules
Auto Rules can be used with the following conditions:
◼️ A CPM campaign
And if you’re tracking conversions or eCPA:
◼️ Postback tracking needs to be active
◼️ A defined CPA goal
With all these in place, you’re ready to let Auto Rules get on with the heavy lifting.
How It Works
Here’s how it all goes down. It really is this simple:
1. Define your goals.
Auto Rules follow simple “if-this-then-that” conditions. Simply tell the system:
a) What to look for
b) What to do about it
For example:
“If spend > 30 EUR and conversions = 0 within 30 days → exclude zone.”
“If eCPA < 3 EUR and conversions > 5 → increase bid by 10%.”
2. Let the monitoring begin!
Auto Rules will include/exclude zones on an hourly basis. Bids are increased or decreased daily.
The rules you assign can be used at the zone or source level. Check out our in-depth guide in our support article.
What is a Source?
A source is a zone with more specifics. In the earlier example, if a zone is a building in a neighbourhood, a source is an apartment within that building. As an example, a source could be a certain zone being displayed on a certain device, OS, or even a browser.
Best Practices
◼️ Start with the minimum CPM bids per traffic tiers. This prevents zones from being excluded too quickly and gives the algorithm space to learn.
◼️ Prefer zone granularity over source. It’s the sweet spot between monitoring being too broad or too granular. Goldilocks would be proud.
◼️ With certain templates, “opposite” rules are mandatory (include/exclude, increase/decrease). This keeps your campaign perfectly balanced (as all things should be).
◼️ We have designed our templates so you can’t use win rate without another condition, such as an eCPA goal. Win Rate tells you if you’re winning impressions; eCPA tells you if you’re winning money. You need both.
◼️ Data collection has been set to 30 days. The more data you have, the better the optimization is going to be. You’ll see improvements long before day 30. This window just sharpens the accuracy.
“Today, if Adcash is a champion among our acquisition channels, it’s largely thanks to Auto Rules, which has proven indispensable in a highly competitive sector like ours.”

Why Advertisers Love Auto Rules
◼️ Save Time & Money
Goodbye to manual bid adjustment. The best performing zones will always drive you towards your CPA goals. Every cent goes towards boosting your campaign ROAS. No wasted spend.
◼️ Competitive Advantage
As prices are set according to the quality of traffic, you’re always paying a fair amount. Whilst you focus your spend where it counts, competitors are paying over the odds for low-quality traffic.
◼️ Total Control
Automation doesn’t mean a lack of control. It means more time for the important stuff, like steering strategy.
◼️ Works Around the Clock
We rest. Auto Rules doesn’t. It optimizes around the clock, so you can make money with your eyes closed.
Things To Remember
Automation can do a lot, but it’s not magic. There are still some things you need to do manually. Here are some things to keep in mind before pressing the big red “launch” button.
◼️ Auto Rules only work with direct traffic, not real-time bidding (RTB). In other words, when using Auto Rules, target Adcash alone and exclude other traffic sources. This keeps the data clean and gives consistent performance signals.
◼️ There are still some things you need to manually optimize. Things like website categories, OS, browsers, and platforms have to be selected by you.
◼️ It’s an assistant, not a substitute. Think of it as your campaign’s autopilot. It follows your directions, but you’re still the pilot. You decide which metrics matter, which rules apply, and when to tweak strategy.
◼️ Auto Rules are available from today. Adcash has tailored specific rules to help make your campaign as efficient as possible. If you want to create your own custom rules, contact your account manager; they’ll help you set them up.
Conclusion
Adcash Auto Rules are designed to give you more freedom and less wasted cash. They automatically react to performance, cut losses, and scale winners, giving you back the time to think big.
If you’re running CPM campaigns without Auto Rules, you’re doing it the hard way. Apply Auto Rules today, and start optimizing smarter, faster, and more profitably.
